What the Academy teaches, and what it does not promise
The Proofset Academy teaches you to read: a tennis match, odds, a probability. It also teaches you to know when not to bet. It does not sell tips.
You will learn
- how professional tennis works: tours, rankings, tournaments, surfaces, rules;
- what odds contain, and what the bookmaker's margin adds to them;
- to spot risky practices and the biases that mislead all bettors;
- to set a framework for your betting and stick to it;
- how Proofset measures what it publishes, and how to read a Proofset sheet.
We will never tell you
- that a bet is “safe”;
- that a method guarantees a win;
- that you can “win it back” after a loss;
- that a past success rate will certainly repeat itself.
Why these limits? Because of the bookmaker's margin, odds are always slightly less generous than the true chance of the outcome: module 2 shows this in detail. And in many countries, consumer protection authorities point out that a service suggesting it increases the chances of winning may constitute a misleading commercial practice.
